What should be done to integrate?

Applications,Teamwork

There comes a time in the life of every company or workplace when you need to hire someone. Either because they do what they do so well, or because someone needs to be replaced.

All this to reduce the strain on the team. Will it really be less?

Perhaps we should first look at what drives the employer most. First of all, find someone quickly, someone reliable, who can produce as quickly as possible, knows what they need and doesn't charge too much. Also, make a long-term commitment and be enthusiastic about working for us.

In the interview, the interviewer and the manager say very good things. It's got all the good stuff, home office, cafeteria, banded pay with performance based progression, own mobile phone and love.

In contrast what drives the worker? If you're experienced and gritty, you'll want to earn more money, preferably in a management role with more responsibility and a company car. Apart from experience, it's easy to find someone like that.

If he is inexperienced and his chances are poor, he is most likely to get hired and prove himself. And to be accepted and loved.

Let's say that the employer and the employee, after a long or short courtship, become engaged, if not for good, then for a while. What happens next?

As in a marriage, once the honeymoon is over, the harsh reality soon sets in. Because there's a lot of work to do - hence the whole interviewing mess - the pressure from the employer to deliver is mounting.

At the same time, the new colleague is becoming increasingly desperate. Because there were too many tasks in the first place, no one is available to explain how things work. He wants to prove himself, but is afraid he'll only make trouble. He's overcome by a feeling of loneliness and worthlessness.

The employer is confident that he has done everything he can. He has given you an opportunity. He gave you a job. He gave you a cell phone, a desk, love. In fact, he just hasn't given you the essentials. Any a more detailed description, video, manual on how they do thingshow to get the missing skills for the job.

Besides, the one who left didn't write more than an A4 page, and anyway, there's so much work that there's no time for that.

And in the end, hiring a new colleague did not solve anything.
